“One of the functions of art,” Ursula K. Le Guin observes, “is to give people the words to know their own experience… Storytelling is a tool for knowing who we are and what we want.”
Telling your story should be transformative for me, as a writer, as well as for you, as the reader.
Not so easy task.
My life story is full of setbacks and hardships, but they brought me to some discoveries, triumphs and taught me some lessons.
For example, the most valuable lesson is that it is OK to fail sometimes. If you want to know what…
As if pandemic and lockdown weren’t enough, the earth in my homeland is still shaking while I am writing this. After a devastating earthquake this year in March in Zagreb, yesterday again 6,2 on the Richter scale. A series of earthquakes represents a wake-up call for EU institutions and leaders.
Sustainability of the Old Continent needs to happen now. Climate change is already here, inside of our homes, and we are not doing enough.
Warnings we don’t listen
I remember when my dear friend from New Zealand warned me about a series of earthquakes that we can very soon expect…
We can all learn from this Covid crisis that while ‘online’ is something we can survive, it is not enough. We need real, live human interactions. | Medium
This fall, one full year has passed since we moved to Germany. They say that for ex-pats, the most difficult year is the first year. And wasn’t it indeed a challenge for us as well for all ex-pats out there. Feel for you, brave souls, wherever you are!
Pandemic and lockdowns when you already feel alone enough are not something you need at that moment. Meeting new people in a new (more…
‘The impediment to action advances action. What stands in the way becomes the way.’- Marcus Aurelius
We are currently experiencing a significant change in culture and mindset. This impacts the very core of our society.
It will forever reshape the way we conduct political discourse and implement legislation.
It will also reshape how we behave and decide as consumers and define our role as citizens.
It will also reshape the way we do business, how we lead and communicate, and how we structure our organizations.
We are forced to rethink our own personal behavior and decision-making.
What is really important…
This year’s Labor Day has a special meaning for me. The job market is vulnerable as all the workers worldwide.
In my opinion, we should be looking for different life skills, quite the opposite of the ones we hear nowadays. Digital skills are not the only ones we should strengthen.
Today it would be so lovely to have a barbecue with ‘our people.’
But how to organize a barbecue, in Germany, for example, where I live?
If I invite too many people, I will be fined cause for more than two families; this is presently a misdemeanor punishable by law.
Greenwashing, by Cambridge Dictionary, is a term used to make people believe that your company is doing more to protect the environment than it really is.
And this considers not only business or companies behavior.
It is on us, as consumers, to decide what is an environmentally and socially responsible product.
We are happy that we can talk about climate issues and sustainability more than ever before. However, it is important to see a positive perspective and not be scared of what we can expect in the future.
The fear of climate issues is scientifically based, and we shouldn’t deny…
Yesterday, one of my favorite musicians, that marked my life with their work of art, french duo Daft Punk announced a breakup after 28 years.
This is a tribute text to them.
This enigmatic, influential French electronic-music duo, formed in 1993 in Paris by Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo and Thomas Bangalter, marked by a disinterest in fame, always hidden behind their helmets, now, in the age of masks, when technology rise is at its peak, send us a strong message again.
WHIZZK has brought together inspired individuals with different backgrounds.
The team behind WHIZZK is putting together solutions to the changing world through their professions and expertise regarding sustainable development challenges.
Along the way, we also write.
We want to leave a legacy. Our emotional involvement in how the world will look like in the 21st century continuously drives us through our professional path.
Throughout my professional path, I always felt privileged to be surrounded by strong leaders. Most of them were women. The guides, role models, and mentors would always somehow show up.
Sometimes, they were fictional, recognized in the books I’ve read. This character is not imaginary. Last week she became Vice President of the United States.
Kamala Harris, the leader we can learn from
I also ordered a paper version since some of the chapters I’ve read needed to be memorized. So…
